The field of hypnosis has many proponents offering many definitions, debates, thoughts and theories. The aim of this podcast is to embrace the diversity, explore the field and to help listeners learn greatly from the insight and experience of those that feature here.
Many hypnosis forums and discussion groups seem to end up with bickering and fighting, so I also wanted to be able to debate the subjects covered here without resorting to logical fallacy, and with a sense of respect for differing stances.
I have spoken at numerous conferences over the years, welcomed prominent speakers to my own events based in Bournemouth, debated with academics during my own PhD studies and found the healthy debate and engagement is illuminating, beneficial and even when people’s stances conflict greatly, we can still be friends. Many of our interviewees and those that feature here, I disagree with their professional stance vehemently, yet they remain people I respect and have strong friendships with personally and professionally.
This podcast is going to have a number of regular features (hypnosis news round-up, factoids) and each episode, we welcome a guest who is interviewed and who subsequently engages with me in a respectful discussion about something related to hypnosis. My aim is to take on some of the big debates in hypnosis, but also to let some of our speakers talk about subjects they are passionate about.
Hypnosis weekly will thrive if we hear from you, the listener. So please do add comments, send in your thoughts, your recommendations, your questions and ideas and I’ll always aim to be as responsive as possible.
Whether you are new to this field, a seasoned hypnosis geek, or a hypnosis professional of any kind, I think there’ll be much for you all here. Enjoy listening.
I send you my very best wishes,
