Thanks Adam, or Donald should I say for this interesting episode. What surprised me is the explicit non reference to Erickson !
I would have liked to know your opinion about the Human Givens model and its application to therapy.
Cheers,
Alain
Hello Alain, I’ll send Donald on your thanks.
There was not an explicit non-reference to Erickson – I did give some reasons for my refutation of that particular approach. Rather than write an essay here in a comments section, you might like to read an old post at my forum on this subject where I give a wide number of reasons for this: http://www.adamshypnosishub.com/topic/211/pros-and-cons-of-ericksons-approach
I would add that any non-reference is simply that the work of Ericksonian is today not majorly influential upon me or my own therapeutic work. There are many other people I could equally not mention whose influence does not permeate my work 🙂
With regards to the Human Givens approach, I do not know enough about it to give a fair, qualified comment upon it. I have invited Ivan Tyrrell to come and be a guest here but he has so far not responded to the invitation.
Best wishes to you, Adam.
Thanks for the link, in fact I am very pleased to have someone with a different stance than the vast majority. Here in France you only ear about Ericksonian hypnosis and most of the people goes directly from Freud to Erickson when citing the major references of the field !
I hope that M. Tyrell will accept your invitation.
Warm regards,
Alain
